OVERVIEW
Adventurers looking for a refreshing getaway from Manila’s bustle are drawn to Mt. Batolusong, which is nestled amid the breathtaking Sierra Madre range. This mountain, easily accessible from the city, offers an ideal day trip experience with a beautiful blend of natural wonders and rewarding trails.
Located in Tanay, Rizal, located just two hours’ drive from Manila, this hike is surrounded by rolling hills and clean, fresh air.
The trail takes hikers through rice fields, before commencing on a steep but relatively quick ascent up the mountain face that goes past wooded areas and beautiful rock formations. Near the end of the trail is Mapatag plateau (645 meters above sea level) with its windswept grassland slopes that are excellent for camping and picnics. Those looking for more of a challenge can continue up the trail to Susong Dalaga peak/Rangyas Peak
(780 MASL) where you can possibly catch a glimpse of Mounts Banahaw and San Cristobal further to the south.
